Integrity filter is doubtful. It can only remain an election promise
The so called "integrity filter" of PAS and PPDA is doubtful, as the criteria of it hasn't been announced yet. According to the guests of "In the spot light" talk show, this measure can only remain an election promise. Cornel Ciurea politic analyst said that the integrity filters can be a trouble for some opposition leaders.
"This filter should be peer for everybody and so for PAS and PPDA. What are its criteria? For example, Maia Sandu was a member of Filat Government is that good or bad?", said Cornel Ciurea.
At his turn, Sergiu Sirbu, PDM deputy considers that the law provides integrity criteria.
"Their filter will be a person who will decide if the person is good or not. This is subjective", said Sergiu Sirbu, PDM deputy.
Also, within the talk show, there was discussed the subject regarding the Election Code. The guests discussed the proposal to annul the Silence Day. The document was already voted in the first lecture.
"The Electoral Code does not define the electoral campaign on the internet and the restrictions complicate the situation. It was a paradox: the election agitation was forbidden, and within a radius of 100 meters from the polling station there could be five banners that support of one or other of the candidates", said PDM deputy, Sergiu Sirbu.
"I was amazed that the opposition that had previously suffered from this situation now criticizes these actions. I think this behavior of the opposition is unacceptable, they should welcome these changes", said Cornel Ciurea, a political analyst.
According to the document, any electoral message will be forbidden on the Silence Day and on election Sunday only in polling stations and at a distance of 100 meters from the voting booths.
The amendments to the Electoral Code were drafted by a group of MPs following consultations with foreign legislation and proposals from Moldovan experts in the field, including the suggestion of the Promo-Lex Association.
