International Danube Day celebrated in Giurgiulesti. Officials from Chisinau attended the fest
Big fest in Giurgiulesti harbor. Many officials and residents of Giurgiulesti celebrated the International Day of Danube. People danced hora, sand and ate traditional food.
People from Giurgiulesti are proud that they live near Danube.
"We are proud that we are born here. Our village is the gate of the South", said Tatiana Galiteanu, the mayor of Giurgiulesti.
"We should keep this river clean. We are obliged to do so."
Valeni grandparents provided the good mood.
"We are proud that we were invited to this fest. We are happy."
At the event also participated Ambassadors from Chisinau.
"Danube is an important source from Moldova. I think that our good economic relationships could be provided by this harbor and the river itself", said Valeria Biagiotti, the Italy Ambassador in the Republic of Moldova.
The representatives of the South Regional Development Agency announced that they will fund the building of a sewerage for Giurgiulesti harbor.
"We want to fund this project, because we come here every year and every time we see a better change. We are glad that we have so many benefits due to this river", said Maria Culisov, the director of the South Agency for Development.
"Moldova has received energy independence due to this river. It is very comfortable to entertain trade relationship, due to this harbor", said Ala Aidov, the deputy director of Giurgiulesti Harbor.
The International Danube Day was celebrated for the fifth time.
