International exhibition of cats Martisor 2019 was opened in Chisinau, gathering representatives of the rarest and most beautiful cats from Moldova and neighboring countries.
The Burmese, Persian, British Shorthair and Maine Coon cats are just some of the attractions of the Railway Palace of Culture.
"There are 148 animals from three countries: Romania, Ukraine and Moldova. They compete in each category and the owners are breeders or certified farmers," said Tatiana Moţoc, organizer.
The King of the exhibition became the Zaev cat, of a very rare breed, lykoi. There are only 10 ones of this kind in the world. The price of this cat is estimated at 5,000 euros.
"A Romanian brought the cat from America. It's the first one in Europe", said Adrian Dragota, international expert .
The most beloved cats were Maine Coon. A representative of this species is from Moldova - Al Pacino Ultraviolet. The cat is 16 kilograms and participates in the exhibition for six years, winning all the titles and possible prizes.
"She likes delicacies, she likes to attend family breakfast, she is very tender and strong," said Iulia Saghin.
The international cat show is open today. Entry costs 25 lei, free access for children under 7. People can buy cats in the exhibition as well.
