Investments in villages! Young people leave abroad only to return and open a business
Ion Ciolpan from Hârtopul Mare, Criuleni, has worked in France for the past 12 years in construction, having earned 2 500 Euro per month. The man took his family and returned home, where he launched a strawberry business.
"I said let us try to do something home. Investments are big, for a greenhouse you need around 1 000 euro. It could create jobs. The country's economy would develop, not only of our village's, if more people would return to their villages" farmer Ion Ciolpan said.
Rusu spouses also worked abroad for three months. They decided that it would be better to offer quality services to villagers, rather than work for Romanians. Therefore, they opened in Hârtopul Mare a hair salon and cafe. In the future, they plan to open a fitness center and a ceremony hall, creating another 10 jobs with those.
"We started with a hair salon and expanded a bit. We created 3 jobs here. If the village would develop its infrastructure, the road would be better, more people would like to return home and live there" entrepreneur Mariana Rusu said.
"We are close to our home. Do not need to spend another 30 lei only on the road. It is cheaper here."
At the bakery from Hârtopul Mare work 25 villagers. The administrator claims that workers are motivated by advantageous salaries.
"I lived in the USA for four months and counted the minutes to the time I could return home. If small businesses would open in villages from Republic of Moldova and people would be motivated with normal salaries, it would stop mass immigration" bakery administrator, Ion Sprînceană said.
Local authorities are supporting those who wish to develop businesses in rural areas.
"Over the past three years in the village opened a bakery, a hair salon, a dance hall for young people. They leave for a month or two, then return and invest in our village. All efforts are made to improve the country's future" Mayor of Hîrtopul Mare, Anatolie Delimarschi said.
Mayor of Hârtopul Mare declared that in the near future the village's roads will be repaired. Around 3 million lei will be invested in roadworks.
