The free economic zones (FEZ) are the engines of Moldova’s industrial development. Last year, the residents’ investments, in those 7 FEZs, exceeded $55 mn. Over 80 % of their products were exported.

According to data from the Economy Ministry, the biggest investments were made in the Bălți FEZ last year: over $37 mn.

Over $10 mn were invested in Expo-Business Chișinău FEZ, and $4 mn in Ungheni-Business.

Over $2 mn were invested in the Taraclia FEZ

The sales of the products made in FEZ amounted to MDL4.5 bn, as the number of jobs grew to reach over 8,000.
