The magistrates of the Justice Supreme Court, Ion Druta was named the chief of the institution. 53 parliamentarians voted for him. 

Druta is the only candidate who run for this office, after Mihai Poalelungi left.

Ion Druta is 51 years old and started his carrer in 1994, while in the present he is the chief of the Judges Association from Moldova.

He leaded the Botanica Court for seven years.

During his activity, the press wrote about his implication in many scandals.

In 2015, the general prosecutor requested his agreement to investigate him within a penal case with two other magistrates, as he pronounced an illegal sentence in Aroma-Floris case.

The request was rejected by CSM.
