Issues discussed by Premier Pavel Filip with Donald Tusk in Brussels
The implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, unfolding reforms, changing the electoral system and the EU’s macro-financial assistance were discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk.
"We have had a constructive discussion, although long, with President Donald Tusk. We have reviewed all the important issues," said Pavel Filip in Brussels.
He emphasized the successes Moldova had made in implementing the Association Accord made the Chișinău authorities more ambitious and demanding in achieving objectives.
Pavel Filip explained the intention of some politicians to condition the macro-financial assistance by not modifying the electoral system was unproductive and unjustified, since Moldova had carried out all the commitments to the European Commission.
But the Premier specified the Chișinău authorities would pay heed to the recommendations of the Venice Commission.
Donald Tusk greeted the way Moldova was carrying out its tasks and encouraged the Chișinău leadership to continue implementing the roadmap.
