The election of the Bashkan of Gagauzia will be on May 19th of next year. The decision was taken today by the People's Assembly in Comrat.
The last election of the Bashkan took place on March 22, 2015. Following the poll, Irina Vlah obtained 51 percent of the votes.
Parliamentarian Nicolai Dudoglo was ranked second, with just over 19 per cent of the votes.
The election participation rate was about 58 percent.
