Iurie Apostolachi's appeal admitted partly at CEC. Majority of signatures he collected declared invalid
The appeal of the former PLDM deputy, Iurie Apostolachi, who wants to run for election in the constituency no.48, was partly admitted by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
Therefore, the set of documents was sent to the constituency council for re-examination, after majority of signatures collected were declared invalid.
The decision was taken after deviations had been committed in the document review process and the election-runner came up with new arguments in his favor.
"His appeal was partially admissible, because he requested his registration to be realized by Central Electoral Commission or this competence lies with the inferior electoral authorities," said Alina Russu, CEC president.
Iurie Apostolachi denies that the signatures would have been collected with deviations.
"I'm absolutely confident of those who collected these signatures. We met countless lines of people, we collected statements with evidence the signatures are real", said Iurie Apostolachi.
The former PLDM deputy, Iurie Apostolachi, collected over a thousand signatures, but only 29 of them were declared valid by the constituency council.
The deadline for submitting applications for parliamentary elections is 24 January.
