Jewish National History Museum will be opened in Chisinau
The Jewish cemetery from Chisinau will be repaired and transformed in a historical and cultural Jewish place. This initiative belongs to Pavel Filip. The cemetery will contain many historical details of the Jewish community. This place will not only commemorate the victims of the Holocaust, but also will be a touristic attraction.
From now on, the cemetery will be managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
Such a decision was approved today by the Government. The document established the place of the Jewish History Museum from the Republic of Moldova - it will be a part of the cultural center and will contribute to the preservation of the Jewish heritage on the territory of our country.
Recently, the prime minister visited the Jewish cemetery, that is in a terrible condition now. Two thirds of the cemetery are totally destroyed. This is why Pavel Filip requested an actions plan to repair this cemetery.
