Accordingly, the Ukrainians only need to write an application in order to give up Ukrainian citizenship, without confirmation from the Kiev authorities.

According to the Russian Duma official, any Ukrainians who wanted to renounce their citizenship and obtain the Russian citizenship had problems in obtaining the necessary documents from the Ukrainian authorities.

The new project comes to simplify this process.
