Intervention units on the lakes and rivers in the country lack the rescue and divers. The staffing gap reached 25 percent. The main causes are low wages and working conditions. In some subdivisions, rescuers lack the necessary equipment, being forced to intervene only in vests and with a lifeline.
Rescue Station at lake of park La izvor has 8 lifeguards, although it should have 15 employees.
There are about 60 lifeguards and 14 divers in the capital.
There are 19 swimming pools equipped with intervention units in the country, about ten of them are in Chisinau. In Capital, since the beginning of the year, more than 200 people have been rescued from drowning, 30 of them were minors.
