List of National Award 2018 winners was approved today by Government
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the list of National Award 2018 winners. The ten persons who had achievements in different fields received 100 thousand lei each.
"The Government found the most simple way to appreciate the people who have achievement in culture, science and other fields. I know that all of them deserve more, but, anyway it is important to appreciate them", said Pavel Filip.
Thus, the well-known film director and actor, Viorel Mardare received the National Award for movie. He was nominated by Pavel Filip.
In medicine field, Liliana Groppa and Aureliu Batrinac were awarded.
To contribute to the development of nanotechnologies and the promotion of national science abroad was Oleg Lupan. The results of his work are published on the covers of international magazines, and the scientist is constantly invited as a teacher at universities abroad. However, the scholar always claims that he will only work at home in the Republic of Moldova.
Gheorghe Savin was awarded for the development of the national vineyard fund, and Maria Cristea, a popular craftsman, founder and director of the House of the Port, was appreciated for promoting cultural identity and protecting the popular harbor.
For remarkable achievements in the field of literature, the writer Iurie Colesnic was awarded, and for the outstanding interpretative art and the promotion of the image of the Republic of Moldova was mentioned the baritone, the main soloist of the Bolshei Theater, Andrei Jilihovschi.
This year, the prize will also be offered for charity. Victoria Dunford, Chief Executive Officer of the Charity Association, was selected for its contribution to the implementation of projects on the inclusion of people with special needs. Also mentioned will be the promotion of the country's reintegration and security policy. Ion Solonenco, retiring brigade general, head of the Moldovan delegation to the Unified Control Commission is the winner of the prize in this field.
The National Award is annually awarded by the Government as a sign of gratitude for the results obtained in various areas of activity. Selection of winners is done by secret ballot by a competition committee, chaired by the prime minister. The festive awarding ceremony of the National Prize will take place on Friday, August 24th.
