Loans granted to Moldovans rise 44% y/y in February
More and more Moldovans are getting loans from banks. In February, the loans granted amounted to over 2.5 billion lei, up 44.2% over the same period of 2018.
According to the Moldovan National Bank (MNB), the share of credits in national currency was 71.6%, and in foreign currency 28.4%.
The MNB report also shows that lending on terms of 2 to 5 years (42.7% of the total loans) was the most attractive, where loans to businesses accounted for 28.7% of total loans.
Individuals were granted loans at an average rate of 7.65% and legal entities - at a rate of 8.80%, according to NBM data.
The highest average rate on credits in national currency was recorded for loans with a repayment term of up to 1 month (10.48%), where individuals were granted loans at a rate of 11.86% and legal entities by 10.23%.
