Local authorities request Government for salary increase
Representatives of local authorities request the Government for salary increase. For this, a letter was sent yesterday to the President of Moldovan Parliament, Andrian Candu, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and all leaders of parties and parliamentary fractions.
Members of the Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova claim that salaries which officials receive at the end of the month are too small. Moreover, they consider it a discrimination the fact that the budget for 2018 foresees pay rise for judges, members of the Government and Parliament, but not representatives of local public authorities.
According to the Congress of Local Authorities from Moldova due to small salaries, some mayors decide to resign or work abroad during their paid leave.
Representatives from State Chancellery have not commented the situation.
