Local elections 2018. Capital elections faced low presence
The presence at the Capital elections was a low one. According to the data of the Chisinau Election Council, over 223 thousand citizens voted, which is 35,5% of the citizens eligible to vote, which is 12% less than at the 2015 elections. According to the representatives of the Election Council of Chisinau Constituency, the most active sector of the Capital was Rascani.
”Botanica - 36,57%, Buiucani sector - 35,84%, Center sector-37,67%, Ciocana sector- 35,08%, Râșcani sector- 37,78%”, said Irina Babin, CEC representative.
The participation rate in the suburbs was lower than 31%. The higher presence rate was registered in Tohatin, 38,35% and the lowest one was registered in Sângera, where only 24,37% of the citizens eligible to vote came.
The most active electors by age category were the ones aged between 56 and 70, whose number was almost 75 thousand. The ones aged between 26 and 40 were also active. Till the polling stations closed, 58 thousand persons voted. The young aged between 18 and 25 also had a low presence.
