Long-term investments in tangible assets in Moldova fell 14% in comparable prices to 19.4 billion lei ($967 million/913 million euro) in 2016, the country's statistics bureau said on Tuesday.
Investments in residential buildings plummeted 21% to 2.58 billion lei in 2016, while investments in other buildings dropped 3.9% to 3.80 billion lei, the statistics bureau said in a statement.
Investments in equipment sank by 22% to 6.66 billion lei, while ones for vehicles declined by 9.3% to 1.94 billion lei last year.
The bureau added that 65% of the investments were financed by local companies' own funds. Foreign investments in long-term tangible assets in the country accounted for 7.7% of the total, writes See News.
