The PM Maia Sandu will not give up the service car and considers that the economies must be made at other employees' expense. The declaration was made after the Government proposed a project that would rationalize the service car's use.
'I really need the service car and I also think that we can make economies on hundreds of other employees' expense, that don't have such a necessity. I have a car, but the security service told me that it is not recommended for me to drive my own car in the period of exerting this position', Maia Sandu said.PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the Heads of Ministries and other central authorities must use the service car by submitting a request and only during working hours. The employees will be insured with service cars only through the Auto Base of the State Office. Those who will want to travel in the country with the service car will have to submit a request at the Governmental Secretary General and to describe the destination.
Now, the officials are using 214 service cars. The annual expense for one car consists of about 160 000 MDL.
