A man from Anenii Noi received a 10 year sentence in a maximum-security prison for human trafficking.

According to prosecutors, the suspect recruited five people from Calfa and Roşcana villages, Anenii Noi, promising to help find well-paid jobs in constructions in Moscow.

After offering traveling expenses and explaining how to reach their destinations, the victims were sheltered at No. 1 Psychiatric Clinic from Moscow, where they following performed repair works. Begin promised a good pay, the Moldovans have worked for free for nearly 5 months, before understanding that they were fooled.

Upon arrival back to Moldova, the victims addressed to the Prosecutor's Office, a case being opened, while the suspect was arrested last summer.

The sentence can be appealed.
