A man from Anenii Noi district was recently sentenced to 9 years, after he attempted to murder his lover.

The incident took place in a household from Geamăna village. The two drunk alcohol and later begun fighting over jealousy. 

The man took a kitchen knife and stabbed the woman in the chest. Believing the victim to be dead, he fled the site.

Still, a neighbor called for an ambulance, who managed to save the victim's life.

The 27-year-old suspect was previously tried and sentenced for theft.
