A man from Bălți was arrested by NAC officers and prosecutors, on suspicion of influence peddling. Supposedly, the suspect received 4 700 lei and 350 Euro from a mother to influence the prosecutor and judge working on her child's case.

According to the evidence, in December 2017, the suspect, along with an unknown individual, took the money to influence a prosecutor and magistrate to issue a sentence where the woman's child, who was accused of drug trafficking, will only receive a fine.

If found guilty, the suspect risks to spend the next 6 years in prison, or to pay a 200 000 lei fine.
