Man risks imprisonment for stealing phone in Chisinau
On 14th September, a citizen of the Capital has reported to the police that on 9th of September 2017 his phone, worth 7 000 lei, was stolen.
According to the victim the theft took place at the intersection between Independenţei street and Traian Boulevard, on Botanica sector. While going home an unknown individual came up and snatched his phone from hands and run away.
The suspect turned out to be an unemployed 22-year-old individual from Căuşeni district, renting an apartment.
He admitted to the actions and claimed that the phone was already sold.
The man is now investigated for theft and risks 11 000-17 000 lei fine, 180-240 hours of community work, or 2-5 years of imprisonment.
The police of the Capital are putting all their efforts in reducing crimes on the streets.
