Valentina Buliga:  Your proposal of electoral system modification and a mixed system introduction will enable each district to be able to choose their deputy, diaspora, furthermore, people living on the left bank of Nistru will have representatives in Parliament, which will give us the possibility to have a true democracy. Mixed voting is the tool to promote and continue democracy.

A mass rally gathered today in  front of Parliament to support the joint vote. More than 1,000 people have already gathered at this hour, and their number is steadily rising.

The action is organized by civil society, and the organizers say they will start the rally at 10:00.

The largest survey conducted in Moldova shows that about 60 per cent of Moldovans believe that MPs should be elected in term of uninominal or mixed voting system. Only 35 per cent have voted to maintain the current electoral system.
