People who wished to celebrate May 1 in a special way, could enjoy today traditional dishes and good wine, at the winery from Puhoi village, Ialoveni district. Guests had the chance to see how the liquor is created and even sample it.
Those who came to visit the winery from Puhoi village received at the entrance free drinks. Traditional dishes were also among the joys people could spoil themselves with, but at a price.
"Mamaliga was always a special food in Moldova, attracting people not only with its taste, but looks as well."
"Traditional dishes are delicious. Moldova is known for its hospitality and cuisine."
Along with the food, people could also see the whole winemaking process. On the winery's territory were also organized schools for those who wished to learn how wine is sampled.
"We explain to people how to make difference between wines, depending on the grapes that were used. How to taste it and how to pick the best dishes that would go with it" Ana Rabacu said.
Guests remained impressed by the event. It was especially enjoyable for people who came from abroad.
"This is a beautiful event and a good chance to celebrate, there is much good wine here, merry songs and delicious food" Sweden ambassador to Moldova, Signe Burgstaller said.
"I drunk a cup of wine. I loved its taste, even if I am not an alcohol fan."
The event ended with an open air concert of Zdob şi Zdub.
