The menu of Moldovans has changed in recent years. We eat fewer potatoes and more meat. At least this is what the Bureau of Statistics shows. In 2017, townspeople consumed, on average, over 250 liters of dairy products, 10 liters more than they were two years ago.
At the same time, they ate 200 eggs and over 100 kilograms of vegetables. There are more bread in the cities. A person in the urban area consumed more than 110 kilograms in a year. The townspeople ate 55 kg of meat last year, three more compared to 2016.
And the fruits were pleasing. Consumption reached 54 kilograms per person. Last year, one and a half pounds dropped the amount of potatoes included in the menu. At the same time, consumption of sugar, fish and oil is comparable to that of 2016.
And in the villages among the favorite foods are dairy. A resident here has eaten, on average, just over 200 liters of milk and about 190 eggs. In rural areas bread is included in the top three most consumed products.
One person used more than 130 pounds, 20 more than an urban. Also, the consumption of vegetables and fruits has grown insignificantly.
Paradoxically, a person in the village ate 5 kilograms of fruit less than a city. Potato consumption dropped to about 46 pounds per person. Instead, large amounts of meat and fish were placed on the table.
