MEPs' advice: The opposition is weak, they should cooperate with the governance
The extra-parliamentary opposition from Moldova is weak. They should think before rejecting a further coalition in the next Parliament after the February 24 elections. This opinion belongs to Norica Nicolai and Maria Grapini MEPs who are in an official visit in Chisinau.
The two deputies consider that the opposition parties who declare themselves pro-European should work a lot in order to provide the development of the country.
"There are many parties who say they are pro-European and I hope they truly are", declared Norica Nicolai, MEP.
"I urge the citizens not to look at the party when they vote. The parties should understand that they should do this coalition for the future of their country", said maria Gapini, MEP.
The European deputies consider that the extra-parliamentary opposition is weak. They should leave the vanity and think about the future of the country. The thing that they don't want a further cooperation means they don't respect the citizens.
"Now it is hard to say who will pass in the next parliament, many things can change", said Norica Nicolai, MEP.
"Unfortunately, in Moldova there is a big pressure on the governance party and a less pressure on the opposition, which is not right. The apposition should come up with projects, legislative alternatives", said Maria Grapini MEP.
Nicolai and Grapini take part of Republic of Moldova's friendship group within the European Parliament. The officials held a meeting with the President of the Parliament who told them that the Moldovan authorities make everything possible to provide fair and transparent elections.
"The Governance has achievements, but definitely it is hard to build something that was destroyed within 15 years. I think that the prime minister has a professional team", mentioned Maria Grapini, MEP.
The official visit will end on Saturday. The European deputies will held meeting with Pavel Filip.
