MEPs approved decision of National Integrity Authority's structure
Institutional reorganization and ensuring the functionality of the National Integrity Authority was approved during the first plenary session of Parliament.
MEPs examined and approved the decision on the approval of the National Integrity Authority's structure and staff of 76 units, including technical staff, by a majority vote the Parliament. Out of the total number of employees, 45 will be integrity inspectors who will carry out corruption prevention activities by controlling their property and personal interests, as well as respecting the legal status of incompatibilities and restrictions.
Also, the Integrity Inspectorate - subdivision responsible for wealth control, personal interests, incompatibilities and restrictions will be set up. In 2017, 53,050 statements of wealth declarations and personal interests were filed.
At the same sitting, MEPs approved the appointment of Judge Elena Cobzac as Judge of the Supreme Justice Court .
Similarly, parliamentarians approved the resignation of former Legislative President, Iurie Leanca.
