Minister Chiril Gaburici and Ambassador Zhang Yinghong discussed about commercial and economic relations between Moldova and China
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, had a meeting today with the Chinese Republic Ambassador in Chisinau, Zhang Yinghong. They discussed the dynamics of the trade-economic relations between the two states, as well as the negotiation process on the signing the Free Trade. During 2018 there were organized 3 rounds of negotiation.
Chiril Gaburici was satisfied with the progress of the negotiations, noting that the parties had advanced considerably on the discussions of the legal text of the Agreement, and as a result more than 70% of it was agreed.
"I am glad that both teams of negotiators have come to a common interests and we have a considerable evolution at this stage. Although the talks are tough, we have to negotiate correctly and in favorable conditions for Moldovan and Chinese side. We are ready for a new round, I know it will not be easy, but the first steps have been taken, so we have to find a win-win formula for both sides", said Minister Chiril Gaburici.
Zhang Yinghong, appreciated opening of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure to negotiate in reasonable terms the Free Trade Agreement, noting that the fourth round of negotiations will be organized, on the proposal of the Republic of Moldova, on December 3-7, at Beijing.
About 85 companies with Chinese capital are active on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and investments in the first six months of this year exceed 6.36 million lei. The volume of foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova with China registered in the period January-August 2018, the amount of about 398.99 million USD. Compared to the same period of 2017, the volume of foreign trade increased by 26.95%.
