Svetlana Cebotari, the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection issued Measles virus warning in the whole country. The declaration was made after the session of the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health, convoked by Pavel Filip.

"Within the commission measles virus warning was announced. We will come up with a vast range of measures to prevent the outbreaks and the illness. The measles is spreading really fast and affects some of the territories in the south of the country, such as Ceadâr-Lunga, Taraclia, Vulcăneşti, but also Straseni and Nisporeni. On Sunday, we received information about two cases of measles in Cahul. In August, the situation became worse, because of some children who were affected in a summer camp.

Today, within the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health there were disucussed the aspects and reasons of the outbreaks' apparition. It has been proven that the number of the vaccines in Bălţi, Cuşeni, Cahul, Ialoveni, Tiraspol, Dubăsari, Taraclia had increased. The illness is transmitted through air. The parents were encouraged to verify if their child was vaccinated in time", pointed Svetlana Cebotari.

The Ministry of Health said that a national informing campaign regarding the importance of the vaccines will be launched.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the number of measles cases increases. The laboratory confirmed that 56 children are ill and other 83 have measles symptoms.
