Ministry of Economy and Agriculture discussed about grapes manufacturers

Chiril Gaburici, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure and Nicolae Ciubuc, the minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment convoked a session with the grapes manufacture from Moldova and discussed about the problems they face when they export goods.
The session was convoked in the context the Chiril Gaburici's visits in Causeni, Hancesti and Straseni.
The minister talked with many economic agents about the necessity to diversify the export market, but also to identify legal tools to facilitate the activity of grapes manufactures from the local market.
Within the discussions, they talked about the situation of this year's overproduction of both table grapes and technical grapes was approached, but also because of favorable conditions, the wine preparing season started 10-15 days earlier, so the harvests started before to ensure the production capacities.
Among the solutions discussed at the meeting was the collection and processing of grapes through crisis distillation for the purpose of further storage, made by order of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, carrying out a detailed analysis of the storage capacities and the volume of grapes to come out on the market, but also to educate small producers in creating associations. Also, the idea of co-opting young people in the agricultural processes was launched, which would be of real use to the sector, but would also provide financial support to those involved.
Chiril Gaburici mentioned that the opening of new markets for economic agents for both products and services is among the priorities of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
"We are worried about each Moldovan producer, and I know that it is not easy to be an entrepreneur, especially in agriculture. We will make every effort to find the necessary levers and to provide the necessary support in identifying the sales outlets for each entrepreneur. We also discuss some solutions, some of them in the long run. We are in the process of negotiating the Free Trade Agreement with China, we are counting on large volumes of production to this destination",the minister noted.
Chiril Gaburici also announced that he will soon have talks with the representatives of Moldovan banks to find solutions for crediting small producers.
At his turn, the Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, Nicolae Ciubuc, assured Moldovan grape producers and processors, to support and open the institution they represent in solving the challenges they face, and will come up with concrete solutions in the shorter time.
Between January and June 2018, Moldova exported grapes in the amount of $ 9,901.9 thousand, increasing by 32.1% compared to the first 6 months of 2017. Moldova supplies grapes to Romania, with a weight of 51 , 9% of total exports of grapes ($ 3.5 million), Russia - 35% ($ 3.5 million), Belarus - 3.7% ($ 0.37 million).
For export to the EU, the Republic of Moldova benefits from the export tariff quota of 10 000 tons of grapes annually. For the current year, the tariff quota was redeemed at a rate of 60% or 5950 tonnes.
