Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure fulfilled requirements for first macrofinancial tranche
Chiril Gaburici, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure had a meeting with a team of DG ECFIN experts (the Directorate‑General for Economic and Financial Affairs is the Commission department responsible for EU) that evolves a mission of assessment of 10 conditions within the first tranche of macrofinancial assistance , between February 5 and 9.
Iuliana Dragalin and Vitalie Iurcu, the State secretaries of the Economy and Infrastructure Ministry participated at the meeting too.
"The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure fulfilled three out of ten conditions of the EU. More exactly, there was adopted the Law on State Enterprise and Municipal Enterprise that came into force last year. Another condition that was fulfilled it was the electricity system law. The law contains all the European experts' recommendations according to the independence of the control authorities. The third action targets to reduce the number of the documents and the controlling institutions. Thus, there was reduced the number of checking institutions from 58 to 18, the number of documents decreased from 400 to 150", said Chiril Gaburici, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
DG ECFIN appreciated the actions realized by the Economy and Infrastructure Ministry to obtain the first trance within the program of macrofinancial program.
According to the law projects will succeed.
Within the meeting there were discussed such subjects as the conditions that need to be included in the second tranche of the macrofinancial assistance and the law to reduce pressure upon the affairs sphere.
The microfinancial assistance offered to Republic of Moldova is worth 100 million euros, 60 million euros will be offered as a loan, while other 40 million as a grant. The financial resources will be allocated in three trances in line with the progress made in implementing the provisions of the Memorandum with the International Monetary Fund and the conditionalities established between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The microfinancial assistance of EU will create a new macroeconomic sphere in our country.
