Ministry of Education has 30 days to select private partner for Chisinau Arena
Ministry of Education has 30 days, starting today, to organize and unfold the competition to select a private partner for Chisinau Arena.
This is foreseen by the Government's decision on approving the aims and conditions of the public-private partnership for the construction of the Arena. The document was published today in the Official Monitor.
Chisinau Arena will be build on 70 hectares, near Stăuceni commune from Chisinau municipality. According to the project, the sport complex will be able to host over 4 000 guests, as well as international cultural and sport events, conferences, exhibitions and concerts.
At the same time, a parking lot for at least 1 000 cars will be available. Chisinau Arena will also have zone for training and small events, an Aqua Park, SPA and fitness club. At the same time will be managed: an Olympic-size swimming pool, able to host at least 500 guests, eight tennis courts and food courts.
The document also includes the requirements of the private partner, which will elaborate the project and will bear the construction and management expenses. It must have at least 3 realized projects in the past five years, worth at least 30 million Euro each.
At least one must be in the sport field. After the contract will be singed, the private partner will have one year to build the Arena. The private-public partnership will last at least 10 years, afterward the Arena will become state property. Beside the land, the state will also offer 202 million lei, money foreseen in the 2018 and 2019 budgets.
The Arena's construction was welcomes by the citizens, as well as the administration of Stăuceni commune.
At the same time, presidents of Sports Associations declared that the project will stimulate sport development and will allow Moldova to host international competitions. While singers claim that such a complex will allow grant international concerts to be organized more easily.
