The public loan decreased by 164 million lei in the first trimester of this year. The announcement was made by Ion Chicu, the minister of finances.

Within a Facebook page, he denied the speculations on this topic, about the loans that the Government made to pay the salaries and pensions.

Chicu said that in comparison with the previous year, the loan reported to the GDP decreased by 2,5% and reached 24,9%.

The minister mentioned that the Government is not going to borrow anything and they will pay the salaries and pensions in time.

Moreover, Chicu says that the taxes might be reduced soon.

The official also mentioned that the Government will only take loans for infrastructure investments.
