Modern radiology apparatus installed in Balti penitentiary
A modern radiology apparatus that costs over a million lei was installed in the prison No.11 from Balti. The apparatus can detect the pulmonary affections of the defendants. The tool was donated by the European Union.
The new apparatus can check all the intern bodies and the information is delivered on a computer screen.
"The image is very clear. On the screen there are functions that permit to improve the quality of the photo. There are devices that make the photos to be colorful", said Vitalie Gusac, analyst at the No.11 Penitentiary from Balti.
The apparatus that was used previously was very old, it dates since 70's. Thus, for establishing the right diagnosis, the defendants were transported.
"It was old and completed by two different apparatuses. The photos had always had bad quality, the pellicle was always cold", said Boris Puga, doctor of Penitentiary No.11.
The apparatus was installed in Balti, because of the high flow of defendants. Also, here will be brought the defendants from the north of the country.
"Here will be medically checked the defendants from Soroca, Lipcani and Rezina", said Aureliu Suhan, the interim of the DIP.
Totally, in the whole country, there are 80 defendants who suffer of tuberculosis.
