Moldova expects bids in second privatization round
The Moldovan Stock Exchange unleashes a new wave of privatizations. The stocks of 23 companies will be auctioned. In 9 of them, the state’s stake is over 50 %.
The producer of alcoholic beverages "Barza Albă", in which the estate holds 100% of shares, is on the list. The starting price of this company is 350 million lei.
Selling 90 % of its shares in the cigarette manufacturer "Tutun - CTC", the state wants to secure at least 340 million lei. "Floarea Carpet" is also put up for sale. The state wants 54 million lei for its stake of 60 %.
This is the second privatization round this year, as the estate hopes to gain revenue of 800 million lei.
In the April bid, the state obtained MDL260 million. It got rid of “Unic” trade center, "Aeroport Catering" and an agricultural firm from Taraclia district.
