Moldova ranked 48th out of 190 countries in Ease of doing business ranking
The World Bank ranked Moldova 48th in Ease of doing business ranking, while Rwanda, a country in Central Africa, was placed 38th. The result was published in the Doing Business 2020, the 17th in a series of annual studies investigating the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it
In the area of contract enforcement, eight economies provided more straightforward options—outside of ordinary courts or procedures—for resolving legal disputes. Mauritania and Moldova, for example, implemented fast-track procedures as an effective way to resolve small-value disputes.
Regarding dealing with construction permits, Moldova made dealing with construction permits easier by enabling quality control by supervising engineers and by no longer requiring clearances from health and environmental agencies for low-risk structures.]
In term of paying taxes, Moldova made paying taxes easier by reducing the social security contribution rate paid by the employer and the capital gains basis. At the same time, the value of the environmental tax and the time for labor taxes and contributions increased.
