Moldova ready to align with European standards in energy efficiency

Moldova is ready to align with European standards to make efficient use of energy. The statement was made by Economy Minister, Octavian Calmic after the Eastern Partnership meeting in the energy sector.
According to Economy Minister, energy efficiency plays a vital role in increasing the economic competitiveness. Thus, joint projects with other countries need to be identified.
During the meeting, the Minister enunciated the importance of energy interconnection projects with the EU regional market through the Romanian gas and electricity networks.
The officials also initiated a platform regarding the connection of Moldovan & Ukrainian electricity systems with those of the European community.
