Moldovan Ambassador to Washington, Cristina Balan, had a meeting with Congressman John Shimkus, member of the US House of Representatives' Energy and Commerce Committee.

During the meeting, relevant topics were discussed in the Moldovan - American bilateral relationship. Balan presented the priorities for cooperation on the bilateral agenda and made a review of the latest developments in the Moldova-US Dialogue, especially in the context of the recent visits of the Moldovan officials.

In other news, an extensive exchange of views on the current geopolitical situation was made, focusing on global and regional security developments, both interlocutors highlighting the role of the Republic of Moldova in the region.

Cristina Balan thanked for the constant support given to our country by the United States and pointed out the importance of deepening and diversifying bilateral Moldovan - American relations.

Also, our country's ambassador addressed an invitation to Congressman Shimkus to visit the Republic of Moldova.

Congressman Shimkus expressed his readiness to further support the advancement of Moldova-US cooperation and appreciated the active role of the Moldovan ambassador to the US in this regard.
