Moldovan authorities get support from Venice Commission in drafting electoral bills

The Venice Commission is willing to cooperate with the Chișinău authorities to improve the electoral law, said its chief Gianni Buquicchio, who’s paying a visit to Moldova.
He says the present electoral law is imperfect.
”One sees a deficit of trust in politics, and this would justify the efforts of seeking a better electoral system so as to reestablish the people’s trust in politicians,” the European official said at a news conference in the company of Parliament President Andrian Candu.
Andrian Candu has assured the guest the Moldovan authorities will observe all the recommendations of the Venice Commission and the international and national norms in drafting and passing electoral legislation.
