Moldovan civil servants to be trained according to best European practices
The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved a programme on training civil servants for 2016-2020. The document provides for improving the mechanism of professional development and continuous training of civil servants in Moldova, as well as for adjusting the system to the relevant European standards, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The programmes sees that, in the next five years, the short-term training courses, in which civil servants will take part, will be aimed at developing professional competences, skills and aptitudes needed to exercise the public office. At the same time, the civil servants will develop their capacities to develop documents of public policies and strategic planning, will improve the level of knowledge of foreign languages and will strengthen the leadership abilities.
The development of abilities of state officials is part of the process of public administration authorities’ reform and will fevourably contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the administration and to modernizing the services provided to citizens.
The programme was worked out by the State Chancellery, jointly with experts of a twinning project, Support to the Civil Service Modernization in Moldova in line with EU best practices, and will be financially backed from the state budget and by development partners, reports Moldpres.md .
