Moldovan diaspora to promote country tourism business
Our citizens will promote Moldovan tourism abroad and attract investments in the field.
A memorandum to this effect was signed by the Diaspora Relations Office, the USAID-funded Competitiveness Project and the Swedish Embassy.
The parties hope to attract more tourists to Moldova. The document stipulates that addition to the current projects, more projects will be initiated. One of them is project Be our guest.
The signatories are not only committed to support entrepreneurs but also to provide grants to those who intend to return to the country and start their own business in the field of tourism and winemaking.
According to the Moldovan Tourism Agency, around 3.5 million foreign tourists arrive annually in the country, and over 100,000 of them are accommodated in hotels and pensions.
