According to the experts, we are witnessing the birth of a promising branch in the Republic of Moldova, the ecological honey of bees.

Free Trade Agreement with the European Union, the United States Government support through project Agricultural Performance and enthusiasm Moldovan beekeepers have contributed to the emergence of a new branch export honey from Moldova, writes on the blog its future IDIS economist Veaceslav Ionita.

Everything has changed with the liberalization of trade with the EU and the US Government's support for our beekeepers. In recent years, exports have increased tenfold to $14 million annually.

Almost all exported honey reaches the EU, and the top five countries provide 75% of our exports.

Romania, Italy and France consume 2/3 of Moldovan honey for exports.

The increase in export volumes, as well as the price of honey, can be ensured in the coming years through the transition to the production and certification of Ecological Honey.

With the support of the US Agricultural Performance, our first beekeepers will be certified in the summer of 2019, which means the prospect of doubling exports over the next 2-3 years.
