Moldovan farmer grows 'youth elixir' berries
The youth’s elixir can be found in Chirileni, the western district of Ungheni. A farmer grows goji berries – the long-life fruit coming from China.
Elena Vetrici is proud of her business, which brings her a steady profit. She brought the plants from Romania and they adapted well enough to the Moldovan conditions. The harvest grows year by year.
One kilogram of goji berries costs 400 lei (%20), and the dry berries cost 500 lei.
The farmer exports the harvest to Russia and Italy.
