The Moldovan farmers started to fight against the insects. The most vulnerable are the fruit trees.

The specialists say that these harmful insects are dangerous.

"We installed a trap on Saturday and we noticed that today a lot of insects fell in it."

Sergiu Ramasescu is an agricultural scientist. He says that the traps were installed in many places.

"We installed the traps in Balti, Drochia, Donduseni and Stefan Voda", said Sergiu Ramasescu, scientist.

The farmer says that the insects number increased twice this year.

"In the past 24 hours, we caught 110 insects in Anenii Noi", said Sergiu Ramasescu.

The weather conditions also have an impact on the insects. The heat of the last days influenced this phenomenon.

"There are many insects in the plum and apple trees. This is due to the thing that this winter wasn't that cold and the spring came fast", said Sergiu Ramasescu.

ANSA representatives announced that the target of the harmful insects are only the fruit trees and the flowers.

"In the past period, a lot of butterflies appeared. Many economic agents prevent them from attacking the rape", said Eugeniu Tulgara, ANSA main inspector.

ANSA representatives urge the farmers to treat the flowers with pesticides for not damaging the harvest.
