For centuries, icons have a special place in the life of Christians. People believe that painted icons defend houses from the evil. But not everyone can paint saints. In order to paint an icon, one has to be at peace. The iconographer Iurie Lungu has convinced our team of this.
The painter Iurie Lungu paints albatrosses for over 30 years. We found him working on a new icon, the one of St. Andrew. The painter says he has many orders, on eve of Easter holidays.
The man says a handmade icon is always the right gift during Easter and the energy of the icon is highlighted by people that worship it.
The iconographer says the most orders come from people abroad. Especially when they return to Moldova on holidays.
