Moldovan National Bank aims to automate interbank payment system
The automated interbank payment system consists of the real-time gross settlement system and the compensation system on a net basis.
The real-time gross settlement system is intended for the processing of urgent and high value payments and the net settlement clearing system is designed to process small value payments.
Objectives of AIPS implementation:
-Introduction in the Republic of Moldova of a system that corresponds to the international practices and standards;
-Maintaining the speed of money circulation;
-To ensure safe and effective risk management mechanisms;
-Forming a complex structure of the real-time gross settlement system and net settlement clearing system;
-Creating infrastructure prerequisites for using modern payment instruments.
The rules for the use of AIPS are set out in the Regulation on the automated interbank payment system and the risk management requirements are set out in the Regulation on the supervision of the automated interbank payment system.
