Moldovan political crisis is holding back the next IMF loan tranche, says Finance Minister
Political crisis is blocking the next tranche of International Monetary Fund (IMF), said Finance Minister Ion Chicu within an interview for Radio Free Europe.
"Once new government is established, IMF mission will come in a week to evaluate and set conditions for the next IMF tranche. The only conditions which are possibly achieved are that we have government, functional parliament who will be able to vote and to carry plans through. They are for the next tranche", said Ministser Chicu.
Another mission will come in this autumn to establish couple of conditions so that we could receive the next instalment. Considering the country's actual situation, Minister Chicu is worried we won't receive that tranche this year. Moreover, the program must be prolonged more three months which is an absolutely realistic scenario, says Minister Chicu.
"It's nonsense to delay this program", said Minister Chicu.
