Agriculture producers have urged consumers to use local products. They said they still have hundreds of tons of fruit in the cool store. 

Production increase for international and national markets has led to over-saturation of the target markets. 

A kilo of grapes or apples in exchange for one kilogram of bananas or oranges would help us a lot, farmers say.

"We have very good grapes this time. They are very tasty and well kept. Each citizen would buy a kilogram of grapes, it would make it easier", said Petru Negru, grape producer from Costesti, Ialoveni.

The farmer had originally stored over 700 tons of grapes. Now, there are about 100 tons of Moldovan black grapes and about 20 tons of white grapes.

"I exported to Poland, Romania. I don't know how long these grapes will go. These grapes can be kept for 20 days. Producer has to sell 600 boxes daily to sell the whole quantity", said the manufacturer. 

This enterprise in Bucovăţ village, Străşeni district, has to sell over two thousand tons of apples to empty its refrigerators. We managed to sell half of 5 thousand tons of fruit originally stored, sayd the company's representative. 

"We want to stimulate consumers to use local products. They're healthy and certified internationally", said Vadim Codreanu, agricultural company representative.

Producer thought to urge the men to buy fruits along with flowers for women on March 8. 

"Fruits are cheaper than flowers. They are healthy and tasty", added Codreanu.

Currently one gram of grapes at the market costs between 8 and 15 lei, depending on the variety, and the apple price varies between 5-10 kilogram.
