Moldovan-Slovak relations discussed at MFAEI in bilateral consultations
Interlocutors emphasized the importance of intensifying commercial and economic cooperation, including by organizing the first meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, which will allow contacts to be expanded, with the involvement of proficiency institutions in this process. In this context, Lukáš Parízek noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for the activity of small and medium-sized enterprises - a key element for the development of a country's economy.
A special topic was the Transnistrian conflict settlement process in the context of Slovakia's presidency of the OSCE during the year 2019. The Slovak delegation welcomed the progress made lately in this chapter, providing support for the advancement of dialogue between the parties and the achievement of the results pragmatic during his presidency.
At the same time, the Slovak delegation was interested in developments in domestic politics, stressing the need to continue implementing reform efforts, including those resulting from the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union.
