Moldovan sportsmen received national flag from prime minister Pavel Filip for Olympic Games
On the eve of the Olympic Games, Moldovan sportsmen received the national flag from prime minister Pavel Filip. The flag was given to the freestyle fighter Nicolae Ceban, who will be the standard bearer of Moldova at the Olympic Games opening ceremony.
During the event, Filip received from the president of the Olympic and Sportive National Committee, Nicolae Juravschi, a t-shirt, two stamps made especially on the eve of Olympic Games, and the Olympic mascot “Dragusor”.
Both sportsmen and officials declare that the national group will fight for medals at the Olympics.
At the meeting with prime minister Pavel Filip, three from the 21 sportsmen participating in the Olympics were missing.
The taekwondo fighter Aaron Cook, rowers Oleg and Serghei Tarnovschi are in the training camp.
The Olympic Games will take place in the period of 5 to 21 August 2016.
